The Promise and Challenge of Patagonia

This course provides an in-depth overview of the issues and individuals that have shaped the cultural and ecological region of Patagonia. Commonly defined as the southernmost regions of Chile and Argentina (excepting Antarctica), this frontier region has a unique past and present. In this course, we trace the political, social, economic, and cultural changes that occurred throughout the region.
